Hello, this week I decided to do a capstone project on the ghostbuster iconic proton pack. I'll be 3d modeling this in blender from scratch using a reference photo I am closely analyzing to point out all the nicks and spots I might have missed while modeling it. Also note that every reference photo I found of the proton pack look different from the proton gun to the pack itself, so mine would be my own style of the proton pack using a reference as help but modeling the components in a different way to give it more oomf to my enjoyment.
A warning before I show what I have done so far, don't cross the streams!!!

The picture above is when I just got started, using the reference photo I started shaping out the gun part of the proton pack.

In these picture I started shaping the yellow rods that sticks out connecting a red wire between them which will be shown in the next photos. I also made a black plastic/metal that is attached to the 2nd rod.

In these photo I added and made the wire, while applying subdivide to multiple components of the proton gun.

The next thing I did was fix the subdivide with edge loop to get it how I want it, along with adding the holes into the glass piece of the proton gun for finishing touches.

Last thing I did this week was made the lil buttons and started working on the rest of the proton gun, namely the round circles. I also fixed the end piece of the gun, somehow my edge loop extruded forward creating a funnel.

This week I added the bulky box part of the proton gun, I haven't worked on the proton pack til I shape out the gun to get an actual size comparison for the pack. The gun is nearly finish, later on after I have done the proton pack I will see to adding textures of dents or such to it.

I started working on the handle for the proton wand, making the shape and tubing for the back part. The tubbing specifically took a while as I had to redo over and over again. I will now show the semi final product of the tubing and the beginning of the backpack.

Notice how I added a round object, I started working on the lower half of the backpack part before moving onto the upper area. In this case I worked on the circular wheel part. Honestly, despite being a low poly backpack, it starting to look and come out really well. I used the array feature we learned last week to create the red circles on the upper part of the wheel.

This week I didn't do much beside add the metal frame around the wheel, bevel the wheel edges to make a more smoother frame and adding a few cylinder to the overall wheel. Along with adding a rectangular plane that I extruded once I got the right size for the estimation of how far the backpack extends. Also here's the full reference photo I am using for this model.
